VALORI: PRESIDENT OF THE PREMIO ISCHIA MEDITERRANEO JURY
Giancalo Elia Valori, one of the most important Italian managers, has accepted to become president of the jury commission for the 2010 Premio Ischia Mediterraneo sector. Alfonso Ruffo, director of Il Denaro, is to become the secretary of the jury. A university professor and attentive observer of the political and economic situation internationally, in his long carrier Giancarlo Elia Valori has covered numerous important tasks in prestigious Italian associations. In 1992 Valori is nominated cavalier in the Legion of Honor by Mitterand, for being “a man who can see beyond the frontier to comprehend the world. ” In 2002 Valori was nominated “Honorable” of the Académie des Sciences dell’Institut de France, which is a lifelong title equivalent to the rank of Immortel of every member of the Academie, but it is not comparable to the honoris causa decoration because of it’s superiority and difference in nature. Valori is the first man in the history of the Académie des Sciences, founded in 1666 and declared a regal institution under the protection of Louis XIV in 1699, to receive the title of Honorable under in the new definition of the term. Valori is the head of the Centrale Finanziaria Generale of the regional sector Sviluppo Lazio, of the Fondazione Italiana Albertis belonging to the Chinese colossus of telecommunications – Huawei Technologies Italia. Among titles about wise characters such as Il Gigante David – Ben Gurion tra Mito e Realtà, and themes of recent times like La pace difficile – Angosce e Speranze in Medio Oriente, one is also reminded of his most recent books Geopolitica dello spazio – Potere e Ricchezza nel Futuro del Pianeta, I Giusti in Tempi Ingiusti and Mediterraneo tra Pace e Terrorismo.
