YOUNG COMMUNICATORS: ANNOUNCEMENT OF SCHOLARSHIPS AT THE GAMBRINUS

Naples, March 24 2010 – This morning in Naples the Ischia and Coca Cola HBC Italia Young Communicator of Talent and Future Journalist Prize was presented, a 2010 novelty. A future journalist and a future enterprise communicator will be chosen among the students of the highest training hubs and awarded with paid internship opportunities and scholarships – a concrete opportunity to provide young people with the possibility to demonstrate their capacity. The Prize is a tangible recognition that will permit the winners, selected through two juries on basis of the proceedings of the communication or journalistic program, to accrue professional working experience. In evidence, the components of both juries called to select the best talents is composed of among others, Matteo Caroli (Vice Principal of the Economy Department of the Luiss Guido Carli of Rome), Virman Cusenza (Director of Il Mattino), Giuseppe de Fillippi (Chief Editor of TG5), Carlo Gambalonga (Assitant Director of Ansa), Giuseppe Marra (GMC Sole Administrator), Giovanni Moro (President of the Foundation for Active Citizenship), Giancarlo Panico (National FERPI Advisor). “We are honored to be part of an important project directed to future generations,” declares Alessandro Magnoni, General Affairs Director Coca Cola HBC Italia, “as an agency we invest in talent and believe that many young people are endowed with it, often it is only a question of offering them a possibility to demonstrate it, and the prize bases itself on this concrete objective.” “This prize wants to above all represent a strong motivation most importantly in young people to confront, in full liberty and autonomy, the new challenges of communication,” declares Elio Valentino, President of the Ischia Prize Foundation, “to give an opportunity to future journalists is an institutional duty, that has always accompanied the spirit of the Ischia Prize.” In this first edition of the prize, the students of the Journalism School of the Suor Orsola Benincasa University of Napoli directed by Paolo Mieli, and the Business School of Il Sole 24 Ore directed by Antonello Rossi, were involved. The Ischia and Coca Cola HBC Italia Young Communicator of Talent and Future Journalist Prize will culminate in a workshop on the theme of Responsibility and Ethics in the Relationship between the Media and Agencies throughout the days of the Premio Ischia. The winners will be awarded in occasion of the conclusive ceremony of the event broadcasted by RAI UNO, on Sunday July 4th.
